SUMMARY:Cuddle&ConsentLab – November
DESCRIPTION: \n \nWhat is a Cuddle&ConsentLab?\n \nCuddle&ConsentLab is an experiential workshop playspace that can become a gateway to beginning to master the art of consent. Through playful exercises and practice opportunities, you can learn how to identify, understand and respect limits and boundaries – both in yourself and in others. The Cuddle&ConsentLab is more than learning – it’s an experiential journey designed to deepen your connection with yourself and others, and to revolutionise your approach to interaction. It invites you to expand your comfort zone for connection and vulnerability in a secure and respectful environment. If you would like to discover how to get more nourishing and fulfilling connections, more oxytocin, or perhaps more cuddles or consensual touch in your life, this practice space is the perfect opportunity!\n \nDuring a Cuddle&ConsentLab, you can learn to comprehend the significance of consent, practice voicing your boundaries and desires, understand nonverbal cues, form deeper consensual connections, and practice consent negotiation in varying contexts.\nThe Cuddle&ConsentLab can be an introduction into this journey of learning, and can also be a great practice space for anyone who has already been introduced into the world of consent, boundaries or conscious touch. It’s an opportunity to refresh and practice the skills of making requests and agreements, and deepening your somatic embodiment in the heart of consent.\n \n \nWhat you will learn:\n\n\n~ Communication tools\n~ Somatic awareness\n~ Consent skills\n~ Asking for what you want\n~ Making clear requests\n~ Being seen in your desire\n~ Creating agreements\n~ Tuning into your authentic ‘yes’ and ‘no’\n~ Speaking up for your limits and boundaries\n~ How to get more hugs, affection or cuddles (if that’s what you want!) 🙂\n\n\n\n \n \n \n\nWhat happens in a Cuddle&ConsentLab?\n \nThe evening starts with a playful and fun introduction which includes games to get to know each other. To prepare for the Lab, participants learn about consent and communication tools for expressing limits and desires. The Lab itself is a guided circle structure where people practice making real requests based on consent and agreements. This anchors an understanding of the power of desire and the value of limits when making agreements. It is important that everyone takes responsibility for themselves, both in making a request and responding to a request.\n\n\n\nWe complete the workshop with a closing circle for people to reflect on the experience and talk about what they discovered about themselves.\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n\nWho is the Cuddle&ConsentLab for?\n \nThis workshop is for anyone who is interested in learning more about themselves and improving the quality of their communication in relationships – personal or professional, with lovers, friends, parents, children or colleagues. No prior experience is necessary, and all genders and sexual orientations are welcome.\nThis workshop is also a practice space for anyone who has previously participated in a Somatic Consent foundations workshop like “The Art of Communication, Connection and Consent” or “Foundations of Somatic Consent”, or The Wheel of Consent, or anyone who has started a journey into practising the art of embodying consent.\n\n\n\nThis is a safe and confidential space. There can be sensual dynamics in the room during the Lab. Nobody has to participate in anything, but you do have to be okay with others following their own desires in a consensual way.
For those who choose to participate and respond positively to a request, they will be able to do so from an empowered place.\nYou can come to the Cuddle&ConsentLab to practise making requests, to practise saying ‘no’, or simply to have fun and connect with new people. Some people may come to the event to practise saying ‘no’ to every request, and some may come to practise receiving a ‘no’. Some people just come to participate by observation.\nBut most importantly, you come to be you and to learn that you get to choose how, when and where you engage – maybe even not at all.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen and Where…\n\n \nWhen: Wednesday 6th November\nTime: 6.30 – 9.30pm\n\nWhere: An Sanctoir, Bawnaknockane, Ballydehob, West Cork\n \n\nPrice:\n€45 per person (full-waged price)\nFor anyone participating in the 6 week training journey “Embodiment, Touch & Conscious Relating in Somatic Consent” ( https://teerthaordish.com/events/embodiment-touch-conscious-relating-somatic-consent/ )\nstarting Wed 13th November, the “Cuddle&ConsentLab” is included in the training price. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo book your place:\nContact: info@teerthaordish.com\nor +353 87 411 9622\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat previous participants of ConsentLabs say about this event:\n\n\n\n“It’s a really insightful, eye-opening, safe and easy-to-join/welcoming workshop, and I totally recommend attending it multiple times or regularly to get more into the topic. Personally, I started to understand more about my relationship with my “yes” and my “no” after attening around 3 ConsentLabs.   At this year’s ConsentLabs, that there’s always been some new information/theory or some information discussed from a slightly new perspective, which has also been really good and valuable when attending the labs more than a couple of times.   It really helps that ConsentLab is such a dynamic and active workshop, meaning that there are lots of short exercises to train the skills in practice. For me, it’s one of the best parts of ConsentLab.”\n\n\n~ Anonomys Participant\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n“It’s good to want” – ConsentLab was a great way to practice feeling into my desires, no matter how big or small, and feel the aliveness of wanting, to give my desires space and voice. Then shifting into the slightly more edgy and vulnerable territory of making requests (and the possibility of getting a ‘no’ – rejection arrrgh!), it’s great to be reminded that my desires are valid, regardless of whether I get what I want or not. These are important life skills and it’s super useful to practice in a held (and playful!) workshop environment.”\n\n\n~ Klara\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n“The ConsentLab was my first experience with Somatic Consent. I had no idea what to expect and I was feeling both nervous and excited. The space felt so open, safe, and comfortable. I loved that the facilitator allowed people the choice to be present without the need to participate, for some reason that made me feel so relaxed. I particularly enjoyed that it wasn’t all theory, instead, there was always a fun exercise to put the concepts into practice. I really enjoyed the workshop. The two hours passed by so quickly and I left feeling more aware and conscious of my boundaries and limits. Feeling open to say no and more respectful of others as well. I highly recommend it. Thank you!”\n~ Ivonne\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Understanding consent in your own body as a felt experience is so important. Most of the information about consent is based on thinking and can be very dry and does not take the wisdom of your body into account. Try this out – it’s fun and playful. You get to learn so much about yourself through the experiential exercises. You learn to ask and voice your needs as well as understand your own capacity to fulfill another’s request. You get to feel less awkward around bringing up the topic of consent as well as your boundaries – this becomes part of your playfulness.”\n~ Ren\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n“ConsentLab is definitely exciting, blood pumping and heart beats because who knows what will happen in this safe space connected with other people in the next minutes?! All emotions are welcome, it helped me through some rough waters already and I am just only starting to understand/feel and use what somatic consent is about. I am going with the flow, and there is a lot of flowing thanks to good teaching!”\n\n\n\n~ Erika\n\n\n\n\n \n
